Finding a pickleball court in Hawaii shouldn’t be a mystery—but as I recently discovered, it’s not as easy as it should be.
After a rainy stretch that left us wishing for indoor courts to play at, I promised to compile a comprehensive guide to all indoor pickleball courts in Hawaii. I enlisted the help of a University of Hawaii student to research courts (both indoor and outdoor) on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island, including public, private, and hotel courts.
Turns out, gathering this information was harder than expected. Several hotels and private facilities never returned calls, and many courts are word-of-mouth only, with little to no information available online. The student assisting with research summed it up best:
"There is no easy way to find courts unless you already know their location or name. Finding lighted or indoor courts is even harder."
